Foodventure: Aoki Restaurant

13:51

To all Sashimi lovers out there, you have to read this. Highly recommended by Axel's friend, we went Aoki Restaurant for lunch as Axel wanted to try the popular Mazechirashi. It's a bowl of sushi rice topped with mix Sashimi which are very fresh. I am not a Sashimi person as I find it fishy and raw food are just not my thing, but Aoki changed me. The are very generous in the amount of Sashimi given, and it's being cut into small cubes which makes it more appealing to eat, as a big slice of raw fish puts me off. Fishy smell? None at all! This is definitely a must try. However do order this in advance as there's limited quantities.

I just started opening up towards Sashimi, so it's impossible for me to have a whole bowl of Mazechirashi to myself for now. Instead I turned to my comfort and favorite type of food, Udon. They use Inaniwa Udon, which is thinner than regular Udon. Their soup base is very different from all the other Udons I had, it isn't that salty which makes it the best Udon I had so far.

We were seated by the sushi counter which allows us to watch the chefs prepare Sashimi and Chirashi bowl. They are quick yet very careful with the preparation, making it very intriguing to watch. Do make a reservation as they tend to be full all the time.
